Basic Needs Community Connections Resource Guide – Resource Use Policy

Purpose
The Community Connections Basic Needs Resource Guide is a copyrighted informational resource created and maintained by Making An Impact, Inc. Its purpose is to help individuals, families, and frontline organizations efficiently identify trusted basic needs services in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Significant staff time and organizational resources are required to research, verify, update, print, translate, and distribute this guide. This policy exists to ensure sustainability, transparency, and appropriate attribution of our work.
Permitted Use
Organizations may use the Community Connections Resource Guide only under one of the following conditions:
Partner Recognition
The organization publicly acknowledges Making An Impact, Inc. as a community partner or resource provider (e.g., website listing, program materials, or internal documentation).
Impact Documentation
The organization provides either:
- A brief written publishable testimonial describing how the guide is used, or
- A short, publishable non-identifying case example demonstrating how the guide supported a client, staff member, or program outcome.
Purchase
The organization purchases the guide directly through Making An Impact’s website or an approved distribution channel.
Prohibited Use
The following uses are not permitted without written authorization from Making An Impact, Inc.:
- Presenting the guide as original work created by another organization
- Reproducing, modifying, rebranding, or redistributing the guide
- Incorporating the guide into grant proposals, reports, or programs without attribution
- Using the guide to secure funding or represent navigation services not provided by Making An Impact
Attribution Requirement
When the guide is used in any organizational setting, attribution must clearly identify Making An Impact, Inc. as the source of the resource.
Suggested attribution:

Enforcement
Unauthorized use may result in a request to cease use, remove materials, provide retroactive attribution, or purchase the guide. Continued unauthorized use may result in further action to protect intellectual property.
